Gil was hired to shape the concept, pick the clips, research and write the handouts, present the seminars and train the owner how to “present the richest most enjoyable continuing education experience” for North America’s 120,000 Project Management Professionals (PMPs®).
 
• 1999-2005        Film TX—San Rafael, California
Gil researched, wrote, obtained accreditation, presented and trained other faculty to present ten different day-long, movie-based continuing education classes for Psycholgoists, MFTs, LCSWs and other mental health professionals. Topics included “Post 9/11 Ethics and the Law,’ “Spousal/Partner Abuse —Assessment, Detection and Intervention,” “Aging and Long Term Care,” “Body Image,” “Parenting Teens,”
“Anger, Grief and Loss,” “Body Image,” and  “Sex, Trust and Intimacy.”    
 
• 2000-2002         World Trade Press—Novato, Californa
Publishers of books, CDs and web sites for the international business traveler Gil co-wrote A Short Course in International Trade Documentation, wrote chapters on the history, culture, business ethics, and travel warnings for 30 of the 95 countries in WTP’s “Global Road Warrior” series and created the prototypes for “Global Connect” and “World Wide Safety Security Briefing
                
• 1996-2000        California Writers Club—Berkeley, California
Founded by Jack London in 1909, this professional writers organization has over one thousand members in 17 regional branches. Gil directed all aspects of the club’s primary funding/outreach effort—their annual Writers Conference at Asilomar.  Tasks included recruiting Pulitzer. Oscar, Emmy, Agatha, Edgar, Caldecott and National Book Award winning authors as faculty, creating all schedules, programs, brochures, press releases, web pages and budgets; training, monitoring and evaluating all volunteers; and coordinating performers and facility utilization.

• 1986-1991        Unitarian Universalist Fellowship—Santa Rosa, CA
Originally hired as consultant to the church’s budget and staff relations committees, Gil ended up serving four years as President and CEO. During his tenure, the  organization grew from 125 to over 375 families putting pressures on staff, budgets and facilities. When the minister quit because of the increased workload, Gil convinced him to remain by having lay members take over some of the ministerial duties. Gil also created successful fund drives which expanded the annual budget 280% and garnered an additional $190,00 in donations to remodel the building.
 
• 1984-1986        National Board of the YWCA—New York, New York
The headquarters for the premier women’s organization in the United States adopted Gil’s “Choices or Chances?” sexuality education program as a curriculum for their National Pregnancy Prevention Project. He then traveled the country training staff, parents and volunteers to successfully implement the program in their communities.
 
• 1981-1982        La Leche League International—Franklin Park, Illinois
The largest volunteer self-help group of women in the world offers peer counseling, education, and social activities to nursing mothers and professional support and education to the medical community. Training their Board of Directors in nonprofit program management, Gil’s recommendations were implemented in LLL regional offices around the globe.
 
•  1980-1983        L.A. Job Corps—Los Angeles, California
The second largest residential youth training program  in the United States. Gil co-wrote the $15.5  million grant for continued funding,, created curriculums, and trained staffers and volunteers.

• 1979-1986         YWCA of Los Angeles—Los Angeles, California
Operates child care centers, senior citizen programs, residential homes, recreation centers, battered women’s shelters, youth training classrooms, etc. throughout Los Angeles County. During    Gil’s eight years as the agency’s Program Development Consultant, he wrote numerous grants securing over $4 million to fund programs, created educational curriculums and program policy manuals and trained the YWCA boards, staff and volunteers in implementing new programs. Working with a volunteer advisory committee, Gil  created, developed and wrote Choices or Chances?  the game-based, life-choice-options program which formed the basis of the Emmy-nominated, ABC-TV documentary, “Sweet 16 and Pregnant.”
