When a movie theater opened in Sebastopol, the editor of the local newspaper asked Gil Mansergh to “write reviews that will make people want to see films they’ve never heard about.” Now syndicated, “Screenings” has appeared continuously since 1995.

In 2000, KRSH-FM asked Gil to talk about movies each Thursday with the morning DJ, Doug Smith. Christened “Cinema Toast” in a listener contest, the radio show stayed live for ten years, and morphed into a weekly newspaper column and NY Times affiliated blog of mini-reviews. You can
